img-bio-gene-goldmanArthur E. (Gene) Goldman is the Director of NASA Programs at BWX Tehcnologies, Inc, in Huntsville, Alabama. As such he provides customer relationship management, programmatic interface and market development support for all NASA-related interests.

Prior to this position with BWXT and Leidos, he was the Site Director-Huntsville Operations for Aerojet Rocketdyne, from August 2012-2016.  He was responsible for supporting AR contract activities in space propulsion production and research programs at Marshall Space Flight Center, and development of business opportunities in the southeastern US.

Prior to his tenure with AR, he served NASA from 1990 to 2012 at Marshall Space Flight Center and Stennis Space Center in Mississippi.  He held multiple senior executive positions including Project Manager, Space Shuttle Main Engine, 2003-06, Deputy Center Director and Center Director at Stennis Space Center from 2006-2010, and Deputy Center Director and Acting Center Director at Marshall Space Flight Center from 2010-2012, responsible for managing each Center’s program assignments within the NASA portfolio.
 
Prior to his NASA career, he worked with various utilities in the nuclear power industry between 1978 and 1990, in plant construction and operation.  Prior to his engineering career, he worked as a craftsman on bridge and light-industrial construction projects.

Mr. Goldman is a December 1977 graduate of Mississippi State University, BS Civil Engineering.  He attended Merician Community College, Meridian, MS on an athletic scholarship, graduating in May, 1973.  He was registered as a Professional Engineer in LA and MS.  He attended the Harvard Senior Executive Fellows Program in 2003, and was recipient of multiple performance awards from NASA, including the Presidential Rank Award-Distinguished.  He was inducted in the Meridian Community College Hall of Fame for outstanding career achievement in 2009.  He is a member of the Huntsville Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, the Huntsville-National Space Club Board of Directors, former Board of Directors of Sci-Quest, FIRST Robotics Board of Directors-Huntsville, and member of the Huntsville Rotary Club.  He is a former member of the Huntsville Chapter of American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, the American Society of Civil Engineers, and the National Society of Professional Engineers.
