As a senior member of Leidos in Huntsville, Mr. Pollard leads the local branch of the company’s newly-branded high technology lab, called the Leidos Innovations Center (LInC). As such, he is responsible for a line organization of engineers performing software development, modeling, simulation, analysis, integration, and test for space, air, ground, and maritime applications. His team specializes in navigation solutions for GPS-challenged environments; software for autonomous vehicles; Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR); and space and missile systems analysis. Its local workforce supports a variety of projects for NASA, DARPA, SMDC, AMRDEC, AFRL, ARL, ONR, and commercial railroads. Corporately, Leidos is a Fortune 500 company providing advanced solutions for Defense, Intelligence, Civil, and Health customers worldwide.
From 2014-2018, Pollard served as Program Manager for Leidos’ Warfighter Modeling, Simulation, Analysis, and Integration Support (WMSA&IS) contract for the U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command (SMDC). Under his leadership, Leidos was awarded over $400M in task orders to provide CONUS and OCONUS analytical support to the US Army, Air Force, and Intelligence Communities. Previously, Pollard was a Senior Program Manager at SAIC and Division Manager at bd Systems, also in Huntsville. Prior to that, he worked at Hughes Missile Systems and Raytheon in Tucson, AZ, where he led the thermal design for two missile programs. He has a combined 25 years of experience proposing, managing and performing engineering and analysis contracts of all types including Firm Fixed Price.
Pollard holds a Master’s Degree in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering from the University of Alabama in Huntsville (2013), and a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology (1996). He has a passion for encouraging young people to develop a curiosity in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) fields.
